Manage asset types

Help Desk users with the Manage Site Settings administrative permission can manage asset types.

To manage asset types:

  1. Select Assets > Manage Asset Types.
  2. Next to the asset type you want to update, click Edit icon.. The Manage Asset Type page appears.

  3. From the EFR Standard Asset Type drop-down, select the fields related to your asset.

    Note: EFR Standard Fields help manage assets by using a set of standardized data fields. They improve tracking, organizing, and reporting on data. Also, they can be used for integrating data across various software systems.

  4. Select the Evaluation Type.
  5. Select the Binders and Binder Sections where the asset type is being used.
  6. Select if assets can be viewed by a vendor that does not otherwise have access to Help Desk. If this checkbox is selected, when a vendor scans the QR code, they can view the asset details page.

In the EFR Standard Sections part of the page, you can add more EFR Standard Fields (but you can't remove any). To change the order of the fields in this section:

  1. Click .
  2. In the pop-up, click a field and move it up or down.
  3. Click anywhere outside the pop-up when you are done.

In the Custom Field Sections, you can do the following:

  • Add a section:
    1. Use the Select Field Section drop-down to select a name.
    2. Select the Fields.
    3. Click Save, or Save & Add to add another section.
    4. The field is automatically set to Active. You can change this by editing the asset type.
  • Edit or reorder fields:
    1. Click .
    2. In the pop-up, click a field and move it up or down.
    3. To change the required or active status of a section, click Edit icon.. Make changes, and then click Save.
  • Delete a section by clicking Delete Section icon. next to it.
